I wasn't sure if I should bother taking a Newborn Care class- after all, I spent over 7 years babysitting and full time care of other people's kids and babies when I was a teen, and have recently been caring for a friends baby when she went back to work, so diapers and swaddling are no big deal. I decided to go ahead and sign up- there are always things to learn and DH had zero child care experience.

Am I glad we signed up! I learned some technical child care aspects I had never had to face in my child care history, and I learned about Postpartum care for Mom (me). I HAD NO IDEA! I won't go into detail, but I feel better knowing what to expect from my body the first few weeks. I would have been very upset had I not been forewarned! Thank you for clueing my husband and myself into reality.

I must also add that DH is going to be a great dad with the hands on practice he received. He has also commented that the class was a good idea for him as well.

I am glad Tulip has moved into the neighborhood. It is wonderful for a later-in-life first-time mom to have someone to turn to! Thank you Tulip! (Posted on 2/7/10)
