Current and VERY Helpful Review by RB
Rating After a somewhat traumatizing and frustrating weekend intensive course through our hospital's program, we turned to Jen and the Tulip Grove. Jen's curriculum in current, giving us up to date information that even the instructors at the hospital could not provide (e.g. how an epidural is administered!). We also felt like she was truly trying to prepare us for all eventualities, NOT preach to us about what we should do. I knew in advance that I would probably need a cesarian section, so it was important to have someone support us and help us anticipate all the eventualities rather than pass judgment on one method or another. She also covered what almost no other course truly prepares you for -- the aftermath. We knew what to expect in recovery and little tricks to make mommy and baby more comfortable. Jen was amazing. Most impressive was that on the big day (a full 3-weeks early!) my husband knew exactly what to do. He navigated everything from parking the car to triage like an old pro. I was so proud of him, but we both know that he owes full credit to Jen. Thanks Jen. You will forever be part of our big day! (Posted on 5/10/10)

we were ready! Review by Andrea
Rating I was so nervous about delivery. After taking Jen's classes, i was not nervous at all, just excited! Jen makes you feel so prepared, without using the fear factor. She is really honest about what is ahead, and she also gives you lots of tips on how to stay calm and be ready for whatever surprises may come up! Not to mention, she keeps the partners involved and interested. I was so worried that my husband would fall asleep during the class, but he LOVED Jen and had his hand up every evening with comments or questions. Jen is so good at what she does, it really is a gift that she is teaching these classes. I hope every new mommy to be gets a chance to learn from her. You will be so READY for the big day!!! perfect class for first timers! Review by KC
Rating After attending a variety of childbirth classes & seminars, we were relieved to find one that met our needs. The small class size allows everyone to ask vital (and sometimes sensitive/personal) questions, and to share hopes and fears with others who are right there with ya. I also appreciated that we received objective information from people with hospital background & childbirth experience, without the hospital bias. We had an experience elsewhere feeling stuck in a class with less direction...one that wasn't conducive to addressing the nitty-gritty childbirth stuff. The Tulip Grove staff knows about these experiences, and they've found the solution. We took the weekend intensive class. Initially I thought it might be too much information at once, but I actually really liked the pace, and Jen is fantastic! (Posted on 3/17/10)
